“One day my cousin Desiree Mendel told me about Smash gyms, and started up martial arts again. At this point I was a little over 200lbs of partially fat and muscle. After meeting my coach Brian, he sparked my interest in competing in kickboxing. I asked how much I should weigh, and he suggested at my height, I should get down to at least 145lbs. That was a goal that no one, even myself thought I could make. However with tons of hard work and staying consistent on a balanced, healthy diet, I continued to take other classes Smash gyms had to offer such as kettle bells, strength and conditioning, bootcamp classes and yoga classes. After 8 months I finally reached my goal and weighed in for my first kickboxing tournament at 143lbs!”- Noel Galano

Smash Gyms got me in Shape for my Wedding!

Planning a wedding is stressful! Stress can cause weight gain! What better reason to start working out since we all know that exercise will help us lose weight, get in shape, and most of all relieve stress.

I know what it is like as I had my wedding last year. Of all the priorities on my to do list, losing weight and getting in shape was at the top. I pictured a beautiful strapless wedding dress that would hopefully show off toned shoulders and an hourglass figure. I knew the wedding dress was an “investment” so I had to make sure I had the “insurance” to pull it off.

My “insurance” was the Smash Fit program. SmashFit helped me lose weight for my wedding. All I had to do was show up! Every class is like a group personal training session. Because you are actually learning something in every class it helps you keep you mind off all the calories you are burning. It was fun!

By being consistent with the SmashFit program at Smash I was able to totally transform my body and lose about 12 lbs of fat within 3 months. I also gained lean muscle which I got many compliments on!

Having the group class format kept me from cheating on my work out. With other people in the class I was encouraged and motivated to finish the class and even stay for another. The kickboxing and zumba classes helped me with the cardio to burn the fat. The boot camp and weight lifting classes helped me build the muscles to get the toned shoulders and arms I wanted for my dress. Not to mention toned legs and abs for the bikinis I would be wearing on my honey moon in Thailand. I was so motivated to get in shape that I scheduled my life around the class schedules. Mon-Fri from 5:00-7:00 was dedicated to working out. If I had to miss a day during the week I knew I could depend on the Saturday morning classes with Krav Maga and Kettlebells.
