Asher Falatic added to Smash Gyms Staff at Both Locations!

Asher is a certified athletic trainer and kettlebell instructor. He graduated with his Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from San Jose State University after moving from Ohio in 2009. While working as the assistant athletic trainer for the university’s football team he was exposed to kettlebells for the first time. Impressed by the challenging workouts kettlebells provided him, he quickly decided he wanted to be part of the cause. As a SFG I Kettlebell Instructor, Asher strives to work his clients hard and efficiently while implementing healthy lifestyle habits. Asher stays in shape by enjoying the outdoors through trail running and hiking. He continues to weight train and practice jujitsu.

A special congratulations to our awesome Kettlebell instructor Asher for getting his Masters thesis published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning!

Titled “The Effects of Kettlebell Training on Aerobic Capacity”, Asher used Division 1 soccer players to show that 20 minutes of kettlebell snatching with 15 seconds of rest significantly increases maximal oxygen consumption. New Classes Added to the September 2012 Schedule!

Below is a link to the new Smash schedule for September 2012. Starting September 10th we’ve added a new 4:30 SmashFit time slot so that busy parents can workout while their kids train. Morning, Noon and Evening classes available.

 

 

We often hear from our members that since they’ve joined Smash they actually look forward to going to the gym. This unique experience is the result of an amazing staff of instructors and the supportive members. Our classes deliver a fitness experience that allows you to actually learn something in a fun group format as you workout. Learning a new skill as you get in shape helps members to stay consistent and interested. The comprehensive schedule allows you to do a new workout every day to keep it interesting!

Smash Gyms has a versatile and unique member base. Located in Silicon Valley between Santa Clara and Sunnyvale we have a constant influx of new members from diverse backgrounds. Because Smash offers corporate memberships for Silicon Valley start ups, many of our members are new to the area and have used Smash Gyms group fitness classes to meet new friends. Our friendly staff and members are very active in the local community. Every night at Smash is like a social fitness event! Our classes are interactive  in which you will often be paired or matched up with partners. This group format allows for a supportive environment that will help you reach your fitness goals, provide networking opportunities and meet great people with similar goals.

Our comprehensive schedule includes zumba, ujam, bootcamp, kettlebell, strength & conditioning, personal training, jiu-jitsu, krav maga, kickboxing, yoga, kids wrestling and martial arts and more. Every class is taught by a true expert in their field. Crossfit certified instructors, 3rd Degree BJJ Black Belts, Krav Maga experts from Israel, experienced personal trainers just to name a few. The goal of our instructors is to run classes in which participants will have fun, get a great workout in addition to transferring their expert knowledge to our members. You will not get lost in the crowd at Smash. Each instructor pays close attention to the progress of those in their class. Every class is like a personal training session.
